Hi folks,
I am an old XBMC user from way back and finally decided to ditch my Win7/Frodo set-up in favour of XBMCbuntu. I have installed the xbmcbuntu-12.2.Intel-AMD.iso version alongside Win7 with no issues. Before the install, I removed the SATA cables from all of my internal media drives so that the install would not go to the wrong drive by accident. The drive that I installed XBMCbuntu to was a partitioned drive (C: and D. C: is where I had Win7 installed, and believe this is the same place I installed XBMCbuntu. D: was where I kept all of my music.
The install went well and I was quickly up and running and was zipping through all of the setup with no issues. I shut down the computer and hooked all of my internal media drives back up. I then deleted the Win 7 installation so that XBMCbuntu was the dedicated OS. All good so far. I booted into XBMCubuntu and had no issues in adding the T.V. Show media from my NAS drive. I was not, however, able to see any of my internal drives so that I could add the media from these drives to my library.
I surfed around the forums here and was unable to find a solution. I exited XBMCbuntu and logged into a Linux style desktop. Linux is new to me, but I was able to find a section where it showed my drives as being mounted. I could navigate through all of them and could see my ripped movies and TV Shows within the folders. I thought that maybe I needed to create some sort of hyperlink from my movies to the root of XBMC, to no avail. Alas, I have been defeated after a two day battle of trying to get XBMC to see these folder and drives. Additionally, the one partition that had my Music on it, can not be accessed at all, but I can see the drive within this Linux Shell (I am sure it has a name ;-)).
I am sure that I am missing something really simple.
As a cherry on my cake, I could not find the old MCE add-on that allowed me to use my Logitech Harmony remote in my old Win 7/Frodo XBMC build :-(
I so want for this to work and would love to ditch Win7 for good. Any assistance in this regard will be greatly appreciated.
John
