XBMC 12.3 won't read nfo files
#1
Here is what I did. I wrote all video info to disk in individual files using XBMC in OSX (the info was written to the NAS where the movies and tv series reside). I then rebooted into Windows 7, installed XBMC 12.3 from scratch and pointed it to the right directories and let it read everything. This took much longer than usual and when it was finally finished everything was there but no info on the watched status (everything was unwatched). I am assuming it took so long because it had to look everything up instead of reading it locally.

How can I force XBMC to read everything locally?

How stupid of me. I had completely forgotten that this has to be enabled in advancedsettings. Perhaps this is a thought for the developers to use advanced settings to switch it off rather than on?

If all the meta-data is in the folder, this will be used prior to exiting for an internet look-up.

I see you found.
