Win Network Video Buffering
#1
Hey,

I have a problem playing videos from a netdrive which is connected through a VPN (download from 300kb/s to 1mb/s) tunnel to my home network.
The library is been integrated by a samba share and when i play the video, it keeps buffering every few seconds/minutes (i think it depends on the file size).

Now my question:
Is it possible to load the complete file in the ram or the temp directory while playing or pausing the video (just like streams from the internet)?
Or is there a better solution with which i can play my video buffer free?

(I tried to change my buffer size with the advancedsettings.xml to different sizes but nothing worked for me.)

Thanks i advance,
Sandburg

Try a nightly build (wiki) then read this: HOW-TO:Modify the video cache (wiki)

Follow example 1 on that page.

Thanks for the quick answer!

Does the xbmc downloads the hole file in the cache before playing now and is it possible that it keeps loading while playing the video?

That's what example 1 will do.
