a long story which needs a happy ending, i had some house sitters in, they destroyed my mx5 box, i have a skin nothing else, they tried hard to get it working, the harder they tried the worse they made it, is there a safe way to flash it,i think thats the word, if so please make it an easy way as i am not tech savvy, i am most grateful for any sliver of help.

Assuming it's still running Android, go into Android's settings -> Apps -> XBMC -> reset data.

That should get it working again. In theory.
