I'm currently using another popular front end, but I'm looking to switch to XBMC.
I looked at frodo some time back but found it difficult to accomplish a specific task. as well as the over all feel of the product felt a little cumbersome.
That's not taking anything away from it. I used it back on my xbox 1.
One thing i'm looking to do specifically is add external programs to the main menu.
I use Windows media center as my TV recording and play back software. (not by choice, but it works)
I also use netflix through WMC.
I also have things like Hulu installed.
So from my current media center software, I have a "plugin" that i feed the command line to with extra parameters and it shows up on the main screen.
example
"Watch TV" - when you click on that it launches WMC with a specific set of cli options.
"Recorded TV"
Netflix
Hulu - they launch specific CLI commands.
so the question is, I know XBMC does music, movies, etc. very well. but how easy is it to get done what i'm looking to do with the new Gotham builds?
