Win windows 7 update now Kodi issues
#1
Hi everyone,

New to Kodi beta 1.
Installed last week, installed all the add-ons.
Been running beautifully the entire time.
Tonight a new round of Windows 7 updates came and I applied the patches.
Started Kodi up after reboot and it won,t play anything.
Freezing even 3 seconds and slow as molasses in between.
When exiting Kodi properly, it locks and freezes up.
Have to use the task manager to.kill the process.
So...I updated to Kodi beta 2.
Same issue.
I was using Kodi for an hour before this windows update, it was fine.

Anyone else having issues with Kodi since today's latest windows 7 update?

Thanks

Thought I'd answer my own question. Maybe help others.
After taking a look look at the debug log it was clear it was an audio issue.
What happen was that windows update reset my laptops HDMI audio default audio output to my laptop instead of the Samsung HD display.
Generally once you plug the HDMI into the laptop it will switch automatically.
For some reason after the updates it didn't wanna do that.
Once I manually set the output, all was fine.

A good reason to turn off windows auto updates and wait a couple weeks before applying patches, in case there are bugs (very common).

Or, just review the Windows Update History and check to see if any update's included driver
updates. Especially Graphics or Audio.

I'm not a big fan of sitting on security patches. So I like Auto Updates on my home PC's.
At work however never. Always Use WSUS.
