vnsi Recordings state changed.......
#1
Hi I have Helix rc2 and vdr 2.0.6 from yavdr ppa. vdr-plugin-vnsiserver did not work with helix so I had to compile 1.2.0 from git.
For now everything works. Except vnsi is spamming log. Don't have any recording or record anything.

Instaled plugins: dvbapi pvrinput vnsiserver live channellists epgfixer.

Code:
Dec  4 21:28:09 serverbre vdr: [1474] VNSI: Recordings state changed (486)
Dec  4 21:28:09 serverbre vdr: [1474] VNSI: Requesting clients to reload recordings list

maybe one of your other plugins changes continuously the state of recordings. that state is maintained by vdr, vnsi just checks whether the state has changed. i would start by disabling all you other plugins and then enable them one by one in order to track this down.

Disabled all plugins except vnsiserver same thing is happening. If I disable vnsi messages are gone. Enable vnsiserver and connect with kodi mesages start, close kodi messages stop.

Then something in vdr keeps changing the state for recordings. Did you configure video directory properly? Could you create a short instant recording and check if this changes anything?

Recording works, messages don't stop. Recording dir is default vdr or yavdr folder. Changed recording folder same thing.

I have instaled vnsiserver5 from ppa, connected with gotham and messages stop.

Try to connect with helix and vnsiserver5 messages start right away. So it's something with wrong with helix.

I don't think it is related to Helix and I can't reproduce this here. Something changes the state of recordings. vnsi just polls the state and notifies Kodi about the change.
Please post a full debug log of Helix.

Here is the log. vnsi 1.2.0 works on gotham without spam but on helix doesn't.

the log is not a debug log, hence not very helpful

there are many of those in your log: 17:55:05 T:2300 ERROR: AddOnLog: VDR VNSI Client: cVNSIData::GetRecordingsList - Can't get response packed
I can't reproduce this. neither on Windows not on Linux. Can you post another log after having reduced channels.conf to very few channels. the log would be much easier to read then.

the errors are gone. I don't have an explanation why vdr thinks the video directory has changed. do you see any changes in this folder when you get the messages?

I seem to have the similar issues, VNSI spams syslog every 10 seconds with something like:

>Dec 13 03:38:11 torni vdr: [4230] VNSI: Recordings state changed (1494)
>Dec 13 03:38:11 torni vdr: [4230] VNSI: Requesting clients to reload recordings list
>Dec 13 03:38:21 torni vdr: [4230] VNSI: Recordings state changed (1500)
>Dec 13 03:38:21 torni vdr: [4230] VNSI: Requesting clients to reload recordings list

Kodi.bin also randomly crashes after loosing connection to VDR, debug log here:

Any ideas I could try?

the crash is caused by XBMC's PVR code. I will ping the devs responsible.

Thanks,

Is the syslog Recording state changed etc. messages related, or something else?
If I close XBMC, the spamming stops immediately, so the VDR VNSI plugin has at least something to do with it.

FWIW i have several other debug crash logs, if needed for the PVR crash debugging,

The syslog recording state is not related to the crash.
Does anybody of you having this issue with recording state know how to compile vdr? I would add some logging in order to get some info on the source which changes the state.

I just followed your instructions from http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=189534 without errors, so yes, I can compile vdr & vnsi plugin if necessary.

Just let me know what to do.
