According to wiki, openelec should auto update to the latest openelec beta (helix)
How come it doesnt ?

IIRC Openelec does not autoupdate nightlies, which a beta is compareable to. As far as I know OE only updates stable releases automatically. But I might be wrong.

no nightlies, but yes betas.
or at least on my Cubox-i.
