I believe the 15.0 Alpha has some improvements for a few chipsets but I didn't see the FireTV listed as one of them. It would be great if the Android version could support 1080p x265 video on the FireTV.

This isn't physically possible. The hardware video decoder on the Fire TV (both box and stick) simply can't decode H.265.
