Kodi removed from system on update: Cannot reinstall
#1
Hello All,

Running Kodi on Linux Mint, tried to install standard update from update manager, and was messaged "the following packages shall be removed: Kodi" which I clicked OK for anyway, since a new version of Kodi was to be installed anyway, but after the updates, not only was Kodi gone, but any attempt to reinstall is met with

"Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
kodi : Depends: kodi-bin (< 2:15.0~git20150305.0200-fb81438-0trusty.1~) but 2:15.0~git20150306.0200-cbeb183-0trusty is to be installed

"
Looking through the package manager I am seeing a lot of diferences in versions with some dependencies being fb81438 and others being cbeb 183
Please help

Looks like it wants to install a development version.

Which PPA are you using?

You may want to have a look over, http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Install_Kod...tributions

Regular PPAs
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/xbmc-nightly/ubuntu trusty main
and
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/xbmc-nightly/ubuntu trusty main

These had worked perfectly up to just now

I have the same issue exactly, except I am on the right repository.
Seems to be a version mismatch, as it gives the following error:

Quote:kodi : Depends: kodi-bin (< 2:15.0~git20150305.0200-fb81438-0trusty.1~) but 2:15.0~git20150306.0200-cbeb183-0trusty is to be installed

you are on the same PPA, thats why you get the same error. As I said, should be fixed with the next nightly.
