Bug No Plugin Thumbnails/Icons On Fresh Install
#1
OS: Windows 8.1
Kodi Version: 14.2rc1 (for some reason this is listed under the 14.1 version on the download page?)

I've tried searching the forums and Google, but the word 'thumbnails' is such a buzzword within Kodi that I've found it extremely hard to find anything other than for missing artwork for movies/TV shows, which isn't my issue.

I've just decided to upgrade from Gotham to Helix and, in the process, start 'fresh' with a blank slate, so I didn't move anything from my XBMC userdata folder to my Kodi userdata folder.

I'm having an issue where I am not getting the thumbnails/icons for plugins to load (but they are loading for my library, as far as I can tell). The fanarts are loading fine, as you cans see in the below screen shots, but the icons and thumbnails are a no show. Is this a known issue? I've not found anything on it. Is there anything I can do? Like I said, this is a fresh install, and I've uninstalled/reinstalled three times now, and each time is the same outcome. I'm lost at what I can do. Here are some screen shots, and my log file.

So, as you can see above, there is no icon for the YouTube plugin.

Again, inside the plugin, and the icons/thumbnails for the menu items also do not load.

However, the thumbnails for media load, as you can see above, and you'll also notice that the fanart is present in each screenshot.

Thanks in advance for any help I may receive.

Follow up: Could this be an issue because I'm on a 64-bit machine?

Just an update: I've tried clearing registry, etc. to see if there's anything left behind even after I manually delete anything left over, and still no love. For now, I've had to go back to Gotham. I want to say it's an issue with being on a 64-bit machine, but this is the first time I've had this issue since I started using the software with Eden. Very strange.

Just bumping this to see if anyone has any solution or ideas to my issue? The ImageLib.dll file seems to not be recognised and I'm assuming it's because I'm on a 64-bit machine and it says it's a 32-bit DLL file, but I'm thinking I can't be the only one using a 64-bit machine, so there has to be a solution? I'm seriously stumped.

This thread is a few months old, but I came here via a search when I had the issue, so others may too.

I solved this by uninstalling then reinstalling Visual Studio x64 and x86.

You can find them here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/...x?id=40784

Yes i agree. Make sure you install both 64/32bit versions. That should solve it. Also i know windows 8.1 has some thumbnail issues so if you still have no luck then check >> http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windo...cc8?auth=1
