(This post was last modified: 2015-03-31, 03:50 by woodyf.)
In December I installed Kodibuntu. Works great.
I tried to get to the command line or terminal. I tried the password I used. Either I don't remember my password, or I originally mistyped it.
Is there a way to retrieve the password? What are my options?
I would like to update Kodi to the newer version.
Will I have to do a fresh install?
Thanks. I feel foolish...

You can reset the password from a live CD or live USB.

Thank you. I will try this weekend.
I will have to google live CD or live USB.
I'm a noob when it comes to linux, but gives me something to do during this long winter... LOL

I know it's months later, but I finally got around to unlock my password. (I had surgery and got side tracked...)
The "https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LostPassword" did not work. The recovery mode would freeze and not boot up.
I used the live cd converted to usb boot drive method, Very easy.
Thank nickr, You where very helpful.
