OS X Option to change how "up a directory" works
#1
Hopefully I phrased this correctly -
I'd like a way so that when someone is in the TV/Movies main view, and they browse to the back button/elipses (...) it goes right to Home. I have family who get lost/confused in the different parent directories.

Teach family how to find the Home button. Call it the "I'm lost" button.

I agree. But it seems like something that's not used by everyone. It would be nice to be able to decide on it as an option.

I think you'd confuse things even more if you start changing GUI standards to non-standard behaviour.

You are probably better off finding a custom skin that simplifies the interface for the family.

Or you can disable this back/parent folder. Some skins allow it.

All skins allow it, actually. It's a universal setting:

Settings/Appearance/File lists (wiki) -> Show parent folder items

Wow. How the hell did I miss that. I'm going scouring for that when I get home.
