Android Cannot play a Recorded Program on Amazon Fire Stick
#1
I am having trouble playing a particular recorded program. I have Windows 7 machine running serverwmc, and have installed Kodi 15.1 on my Amazon fire stick. Other recordings as well as live TV will play fine, but a particular recorded program won't. Debug log:

http://pastebin.com/kByiXedS

The same recording WILL play when streamed to another machine, Windows 10, running 14.2:

http://pastebin.com/63RSKnVu

The name of the file in question is

College Football_KOMOH_2015_09_05_16_55_00.wtv

Any guidance in figuring this out would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like it is a bug in Kodi 15, since kodi 14 plays it. Have you tried playing this wtv file directly with kodi? In other words, don't use the TV section of kodi, just play the file from the videos section.

I get the same behavior when I add the folder as a SMB share and play it via "Videos" section. It seems like there is an instant of a frame, like it starts and stops immediately.

It's the kodi core that can't play the file then. Have you tried turning off kodi's hardware acceleration on the fire?

That did it! Disabling both libstagefright and mediacodec let me play the video. Very strange that this isn't necessary in 14.2 or for other recordings by the same server- any clue what would cause this?

Good. Something is broken in kodi 15 with hardware acceleration and windows. Check out this thread:
