Live Stream of Desktop-Content (Game-Stream)
#1
Hi Guys,

i need your help. I have two Nuc's running OpenElec and LiveTV with DVBLink and IPTV Simple Client PVR-Addon. Additionaly i own a Desktop PC primarily used for playing games. Currently i have to switch hdmi-Inputs to play those games. My goal is to stream the desktop-screen (gaming content) over lan as an iptv channel to see the desktop screen on one (or both) of my nuc's.

I recently tried those howto's:
https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/StreamingGuide
http://www.waitwut.info/blog/2013/06/09/...r-latency/

And recieved a minimal latency around 1-2 Seconds which is good but way to slow for gaming over iptv. Maybe one of you already tried something like this or has a better solution.

This is just a proof-of-concept i want to try. As long as moonlight or any other game streaming plattform is not completely integrated in kodi this would be practicable solution.

Thanks

As it is not optimized for latency because there is no need of it for Live TV or PVR, the PVR and Live TV functions in Kodi will probably never be the right solution for game streaming.

You instead want to follow this NVIDIA GameStream project which will is to become an addon that will use the new Game API in Kodi => http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=220965
