v17 Shield ATV - Krypton (pre) Alpha 1 PT audio issues & Test Builds
Upgrade your backend and retry. The old version has a bug, by sending non valid data to the client too early, which causes the hw decoder not opening.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
Started a new branch (v3) for testing?

Nope - that's to get AMLogic back into master.

With the current features of this Shield passthrough I am basically done. I will revisit the runtime caps when the v6 is out to remove two / three workarounds for the current firmware.

Cool! So stay with this http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/andro...bi-v7a.apk for now?

You can install nightly builds from now on (starting tomorrow) until we need some more testing with special builds

You can stay with master from now on, yes. Latest and greatest. Will recheck when shield v6 is out for the masses.

Nice. I will switch over to nightlies starting next week then. Thanks for the heads up Smile

That's fantastic @fritsch, thank you. I will also benefit from all the work done by others and get the krypton nightlies from Monday. On that note, do these nightlies feature the newly constructed video player and is there any difference that a user will notice that's not "under the bonnet"? Thanks again for everything

TrueHD (Atmos) is the only thing I'm seeing any problems with. It is out of sync but goes back in sync after skipping forward/back.

Looks like you had refresh rate switching turned on. It is a known issue. You have to do a seek to get rid of the lipsync error.

While you are at it, can you please check whether you get the PCM sound issue that I have reported?

Sorry, Adjustrefreshrate is broken "a bit" - please retry without, please.

Why do i get the crackling hissing noise using dts passthrough on the krypton builds but not on jarvis?
No Debug Log, no issue, no problem to solve.

To be fair I wasnt under the assumption that a log was required for that question. I was under the impression that someone was going to say "DTS is encoded differently in Krypton to Jarvis" or something along those lines. Will post the logs for jarvis and krypton now. Thanks for the reply.
