I don't think that's what he's trying to do. If you look at the trac ticket, he was told that there were no active Team Kodi Android maintainers. He's just brining some extra attention to it on the forum. EDIT: as a specific forum topic, that is. The other posts are buried in a much larger thread about Sony Android TV.

there isnt any *official* android devs apparently so im asking if any devs in the *community* are able to fix it then issue a push request lol. hence asking here not caring about a ETA im just hoping someone has the ability to fix it eventually. thanks.
