Bug Latest update locks up in random addons, views
#1
This has started in the last week - I noticed the other thread about it but it was something with openelec; I am on a AFTV (ARM) and latest Kodi general release (Jarvis). It'll lock completely and I'll have to unplug and replug my AFTV to get it to restart. Any thoughts?

This is happening to me also. It is a random lockup that forces me to power down and restart. I am running Titan on an Openelec Rasp Pi2. This never happened on earlier versions.

This happens very frequently even though there are no updates being reported as needed. The skin services and shortcut helper are also fully updated according the the OS.

I really miss Titan...It's by far the best skin I've ever seen.

Would it be possible for you guys to try out the latest beta version of the skin to see if that solves the issue ?

Zardoze do you use Exodus or SALTs by any chance? I'm just curious if its a problem with those. Today my Kodi froze up randomly looking through, and Titan was installed (but NOT in use). I wonder if only having it installed makes things freeze, or maybe its not the problem?

That link doesn't work for me. I'm using an OpenElec 6.0.3 with Isengard 15.2....If I go back to 6.0.1 everything is fine, as well as when I only change the skin to Amber or Confluence on the updated Openelec. No hangs in that case, only when 6.0.3 with 15.2

I am also getting random freezes during navigation which is forcing a reboot.

Yes, me too. Random lockups while pausing a file. Switching through the settings and going back to the home menu. Thanks for looking into this. Titan is my favorite skin. Smile
Edit: Somehow I don't get any crashes anymore. Maybe some other addon caused my problems.
Edit 2: Nevermind crashed after pausing a file some time Sad

Try to update the skinhelper from here:

Please report back if the issue is now fixed.

It updated through auto update and it seems that it doesn't crash anymore. Thank you. Smile

I've updated to the 1.0.68 version of Skin Helper and am still experiencing crashes. These happen both on the stable skin and on the BETA one. They occur less frequently than when using 1.0.60 of Skin Helper, but still at least once or twice daily. Usually only a couple minutes of navigation will cause a hard freeze that requires a forced power-cycle.

I'm using OpenELEC 6.0.3 on a Raspberry Pi 2, if that matters at all. I don't have any other functionality plugins installed -- just a few video streaming ones. Other than that, it's vanilla. I also don't see the freezes under other skins.

If there's a way I can provide a log to help with troubleshooting, let me know. Unfortunately, this error doesn't generate a crashlog to the temp folder, but if there's something else I can provide, I'd be glad to help.

Just a bump. Still seeing rather frequent crashes. The system just completely hangs, and it's always when navigating through different views (most regularly when trying to load Video Add-Ons).

Are there still any other users experiencing these sorts of freezes, even after the most recent Skin Helper updates?

Crashes happen all the time for me navigatting the main menu, using confluence vertical home menu. The skin freezer and I have to kill kodi via ssh. I can still hear video playing in the background though.
