you need tags to get things into the library. there's no way around that. nfos do NOT replace tags, they replace online lookups for rich info that isn't read from tags.
indeed you are correct. some sources claims .dff is tagless, some claim it's the same as .dsf and that .dsd is the raw containerless data. what a mess. in particular the samples i used when adding the tag reader was named .dff and have tags.
