I think a lot of users (specifically those that buy the boxes) have no idea what an Addon/extension is. It just doesn't seem to connect for them. So why not stop calling them Addons/extensions and start calling them Apps. People understand apps because of the proliferation of smart phones. They understand that Apps aren't a part of the core phone, that they are something you get and install yourself. If you changed the name, specifically in kodi, from Video addons, to video apps, music apps and extensions to apps, People whom aren't technically inclined might have an easier time understanding that what they are using aren't developed by Kodi. I know it wouldn't comepletly curtail what is going on but I think it might help cut down on a lot of confusion by simply changing the terms.
