Hello,

I've researched for hours and still can't decide on what Kodi box I want! My current setup is:
- Synology DS216play NAS that holds my collection.
- LG 55EG910V FULLHD OLED TV (soon to buy)

In the future, I will expand to a good surround sound systems so the box needs to be prepared for that.

My requirements are:
- It must work with the Synology NAS.
- It must support high bitrate videos via WiFi (don't know if 802.11ac is required or if 802.11n is enough. I have good reception).
- MUST support playing HD Audio on KODI. This doesn't necessarily mean passtrough. It must be able to play ANY HD Audio movie on the LG TV so it must decode it if it isn't supported by the TV.
- The setup MUST support HEVC and 10bit (hi10p) movies, even if the TV doesn't support it (so it must decode it if required).

From my research, the cheapest alternative I could find is the NVIDIA Shield TV. If I drop the 10 bit support, it seems the second cheapest is the WETEK Core.

Am I wrong? Sorry for being such a noob

yes you are correct a Nvidia shield TV with spmc installed, will cover all your needs.
