Any USB- or IP-based tuner with decent mainline Linux support is likely to work. The Pi has a very up-to-date kernel (unlike some other ARM platforms like the AMLogics) and so almost everything that has driver support in the Kernel will work.
What TV platform are you looking for (DVB-S/S2, DVB-T, DVB-T2, DVB-C, ISDB-T, ATSC 8 VSB, ATSC QAM?) - and how many tuners? The Pi running OpenElec (and ether VDR or the TV Headend backends that are available for OE) is a great little solution for single/dual tuner self-contained set-ups.
