Anyone else have a problem streaming things like football via a satellite box and the stream flickers like its the wrong resolution? Its unwatchable, I have an iPhone 6 Plus with a res of 1080p but cant change the settings from 2208 x 1242?

The iPhone 6(s) plus does in fact render at a higher resolution and downscale the image to 1080p to fit the screen

This weird scaling was chosen by Apple to simplify asset management for apps

I managed to fix it myself, it appears that iOS needs to have "Deinterlace Video" turned off under video settings on a TV stream and then it plays fine
