I think you mean 720p? You always quote the vertical resolution not the horizontal resolution - so 1280x720 = 720p (not 1280p)
Quote:Rippl-TV V2 Resolution 740p (producer say the work on a Firmwareupgrade that works with 1080p) - Youtube works with 1080p
740p? I think you mean 480p (i.e. 720x480 = 480p)
AFAIK there is no such standard as 740p...
That's what all non-certified Android boxes which run the Netflix app can do. It'll take a lot more than a firmware upgrade to get 1080p Netflix... Your box has to be certified by Netflix (i.e. on their 'whitelist') and have been approved by them for HD streams. Wetek is one of the only (if not the only) smaller manufacture to have achieved this - the other boxes that are Netflix whitelisted for HD are the Nexus Player (RIP), the Amazon Fire TV range, the nVidia Shield and the Apple TV 3 and 4 (the 3 doesn't run Kodi though)

I think you mean 1080p (1920x1080 = 1080p)
Be useful to be aware of the standard way of quoting resolutions, particularly important as SD video is 720x480 and 720x576 in some cases, and HD video can be 1280x720 - both have 720 in their resolution - but are very different qualities.
Standard resolutions are :
SD 480i/p = 640x480, 844x480, 704x480, 720x480, 352 x 480 etc.
SD 576i/p = 768x576, 1024x576, 704x576 (and 702 x 576 though non-MPEG that's the standard SD resolution with some padding to 704 or 720), 720x576 etc.
HD 720p = 1280x720
HD 1080i/p = 1920x1080, 1440x1080, 1280x1080
UHD/4K 2160p = 3840x2160, 4096x2160
