Kodi or Emby

Hi all

If you dont need the transcoding and remote viewing of Emby then are there any other big reasons to choose it over plain Kodi library?

Thanks

I use it for the ease of management. It works too damn well. Emby+kodi as your front end is an unbeatable combination.

Emby and Plex are good replacement for viewing history shared between multiple computers.

True much easier to share watched statues but you can use mysql db on a NAS server for sharing Kodi db also.

While that is true, i found MySQL config harder to set up than just installing PlexKodiConnect (for Plex) or the Emby plugin (for Emby). But obviously it is just one of the features, while the other features are clearly not important to you.

Another nice feature of Emby is the auto organisation. Just set a folder that should be watched by emby and once it finds new files in there it copies them over to the location of your database, renames them, adds them to your media library and then deletes the file in the watched folder. Saves a lot of time that was spend organising your library before.
