For my first Kodi box, I only forked out about AUD200 for a Brix Bay Trail M with 2GB RAM. I had a spare SSD so that was all good budget-wise.
Now I need a second box and noticed that the same model of Brix has gone up in price and because I need to consider HEVC playback, I have to at least get Braswell NUC.
After hours of browsing, I noticed that I might be close to spending the same amount of money for a laptop using the same processor.
So the the question is, performance wise, would these 2 have any difference:
Laptop:
Intel Celeron N3050 dual core 1.6GHz processor
4GB RAM
500GB hard drive
Intel NUC:
Intel Celeron N3050 dual-core CPU, 2.16 GHz
4GB RAM
500GB hard drive
I know it's not ideal to use a laptop as a dedicated Kodi box but I guess having that form factor might be handy at some stage.
