I have the Nvidia Shield with Kodi installed. I tried both the stable and the latest 17 beta versions.
When I click on a sample HDR video it starts playing but in normal 4k without HDR.
Now while its playing if I press the back button it will exit the full screen player, put the video in the background and show the menu.
And now HDR is enabled. TV shows the message that it detected HDR content and the colors change correctly to HDR mode.
If I exit the menu and show the player in full screen again HDR gets turned off.
I dont get it. Obviously my setup supports HDR since it plays correctly, but for some reason it works only when the video is in the menu background.
Any ideas why this is happening?
