Sorry, haven't had time to drop in here and check the progress. The task that is run at the end of the epg123 import is to kick off the indexing of the guide listings and is necessary for the category searches and scheduled recordings (I believe). This is a MS/WMC generated task and I am just running it on demand. The alternate method would be to call "ehPrivJob.exe /DoReindexSearchRoot".

By definition, the indexing job would required a lot of access to the database, so that may be part of the problem. Question would be why now since even with MS/Rovi guide listings it still had to index the db? and why would it close serverwmc?

Thanks for the info, I figured it was probably something like that. Even more mysterious is why running swmc as a service is the only mode that shows the problem. Anyway, I modified swmc so that it catches this database error and then attempts to reopen it until the error clears. Apparently it seems to be working, so I'll take it until we hear otherwise.

Just to confirm.
I still have not seen any error so far running version 1239 in service mode
and it runs every night.
all is good.
