Hi,

Over night, my sound stopped working correctly, i am on Kodi Krypton beta5 running on Ubuntu 16.04

I have a Xonar pci soundcard, connected to my receiver over spdif , passthrough is enabled and pointing to the xonar.

if i play a movie with for example dts sound, my receiver confirms its getting dts sound from my pc.

I can hear the two back channels (i.e sorround) , but i cannot hear any speech/dialogue

If i disable passthrough, i can hear all sounds

Any ideas?

Also tried nightly, no change

BUT, if i change a setting on my receiver, it seems to work.

Its a Pioneer receiver (quite old now, no hdmi)

I have always used the "DIRECT" setting, but if i instead change it to "Autosurround" it seems to work, i.e i still get dts & dd5.1, and it sounds normal.

Perhaps my receiver is on its last legs, and its got nothing to do with Kodi?
