Would be great if the user could double-click on a director's name in the crew tab then tmm immediately lists all movies directed by the director.
Same for the cast member: all Tom Cruise movies in the collection getting listed by double-clicking on his name in the cast tab.

No need to support producers, executives, etc. Just directors, writers and cast would be enough.

filtering for director's and crew names should already be possible with the cast filter.

I doubt adding a double click event to the name would be a good idea: that could be used by mistake from users that don't know this feature and wondering why movies "disappear"

I like the current cast/crew filter works so instantly. But it has limitations.
You can't separately filter to the movies directed by Clint Eastwood and the movies where he appeared as an actor. Also you have to type a name to the filter box when those names are already available from cast/crew tabs.

If you don't like a double click event, context menu would be fine. The main idea is a simpler and easier filtering by cast/crew member.

filtering the persons name over all person-fields is possible now. If you want just the movie names which are directed by Clint Eastwood, you may have to filter them out by hand (don't think it should be a problem to split them with the movies he has been an actor). What you want is more SQL like than tinyMediaManager (simple media manager) was in mind.

I don't think we will split actor and producer search into two different searches because if we do so you wouldn't be able to search for "Clint Eastwood" in both fields any more
And we won't to make tmm more complex for some border cases - this app should be small/fast and intuitive
