Kodi16.1 freezes when entering the Music Section (using DP to HDMI converter)
#1
Hello,

I am experiencing a problem with KODI when entering the Music section KODI freezes and the only way to recover is through restarting the laptop.
My config as below:
KODI 16.1
Windows7
HP Laptop connected to LG TV
Display port from the HP laptop is used for both Audio & Video connection via "Display port to HDMI" converter in the Laptop and HDMI cable from the converter to the TV.

all the videos are working just fine the only issue with the music section ,i tried fresh install without keeping the preferences and same issue happened ,however once i remove the Display Port converter from the laptop i.e. disconnect the TV ,i can enter the music section normally.

What i tried so far:
- fresh install of Kodi16.1 without keeping preferences.
- fresh install for Kodi17
- changing the Audio Output to "WASAPI" instead of "Direct"

Are there any issues reported regarding the Display port to HDMI converter.

I am attaching the crash log although there is not much info there.

Hello mooha,

You need to enable Debug Logging in the Settings menu. The only thing of importance your log shows is an abundance of Banned Add-ons that contravene the Forum Rules that you agreed to when you signed up.

We are unable to provide support with your current installation.

I already enabled debug logging ,will do that again.

Meanwhile can you mention what are the banned addons i have in order to remove them?

Have a look at Banned add-ons (wiki).
You need to enable Debug Logging and after that restart Kodi for getting additional information on starting.

Did you reproduce the issue after turning on debugging?

Are you sure it isn't just indexing your music?
If I have helped you or increased your knowledge, click the 'thumbs up' button to give thanks :) (People with less than 20 posts won't see the "thumbs up" button.)

Have you scanned your music into the music library? In general Kodi relies on the embedded metadata tags to define music properties, and it can take time with large collections or slow systems/networks to scan all the files before track or album lists display in the UI.
