Kodi Stopped working completely
#1
So I am very new to this Android box, I just received it and every app I go on is either empty or fails to open, and any app I download doesn't work due to either a 404 error or just says 'failed to open'. I have viewed the log and none of it makes sense to me but and I can't seem to find a tutorial on how to get a log from the box to the PC so I can upload the log to this site. If someone could tell me how to fix this or how to get the log on here it would be kindly appreciated, cheers.

IMPORTANT:
The official Kodi version does not contain any content what so ever. This means that you should provide your own content from a local or remote storage location, DVD, Blu-Ray or any other media carrier that you own. Additionally Kodi allows you to install third-party plugins that may provide access to content that is freely available on the official content provider website. The watching or listening of illegal or pirated content which would otherwise need to be paid for is not endorsed or approved by Team Kodi.

Wow that's quite the list of banned addons you have installed. I'm afraid you won't get any help here other than how to clean your box completely of said addons and starting over with a clean install.

Banned from what? The forum?

How do I start over with a clean install?

Yes, maybe you should actually read the forum rules (wiki) that you accepted when you signed up here. We do not support piracy here, nor all the multitude of 3rd party banned addons (wiki) such as your box is stuffed full of.

Depending on your box, you may be able to clear the Kodi app data, but if not then an uninstall and reinstall may be needed.

I did a factory reset that was supposedly getting rid of all my apps but Kodi disappeared for like 3 seconds and then reappeared, with all the apps still on it. How do I properly uninstall and reinstall?

I can't possibly understand why all these add ons are banned from the forums when they are freely available, and advertised, and recommend to download within the Kodi app? Forgive me for assuming that the Kodi forums would reflect the app...

They most certainly are not recommended within the Kodi app. Not ours. Wherever you got it from, blame them. The Kodi forums do reflect the app that we offer through our routes. If you got it from somewhere else then you've brought with it whatever they've decided to include and/or install onto your system.

As for "freely available", so are street drugs. Ubiquity or ease of access doesn't make something legal.

So why is it that when I go on to video add ons and press 'get more' I'm greeted with all these apps? That's part of Kodi isn't it? Nothing third party about that...

If you didn't install 3rd party repositores, by clicking "get more" you will get only non-pirate Kodi team approved addons. If you install 3rd party pirate repos, you will get pirate addons, pretty simple. Like Windows - you have it and you can download pirated software or torrents etc, but is not Microsoft's thing if you do.

Because you bought / acquired a piracy box with pre-loaded add-ons so their repositories are of course already pre-loaded by whoever produced the box.
