Would it be possible, like http://rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/mac/ Airflow to send the audio to an airport express. Would be one cabe less (for me at least). It has 5.1 audio so? =)

Great idea. +1 for exploring this further.

It's definitely possible. Been testing it out. My AE is hooked up over rca and not optical at the moment, so can't test 5.1 yet.

The problem lies in the 2 second delay in the audio stream.

So I guess it might be possible to have an audio sync selection that delays the video stream by 2 seconds (if the delay is exactly 2 sec) ?

I have a Windows PC running XBMC hooked up to my network.
Just bought an Apple Airport with audio out that is wirelessly connected.

Do I need to buy Airfoil to get XBMC to play to the IP of the Apple Airport?
Most of the posts I've seen involve a MAC. There are none in my house and I do NOT want to install itunes.

Thanks,
