v18 operation not permitted when trying to add SMB - Works with IP
#1
I had this bug since ever. Windows 10 with SMB 1 enabled (not sure if that's still required) but when I'm trying to add a new
video source using the regular SMB browse, I'm getting "operation not permitted" after selecting my computer name.
Adding the IP manually works as expected.

Any chance this will be addressed?

* MrMC can browse and add SMB shares just fine.

SMBv1 is has been deprecated by Windows, SMBv2 is now the default version in Windows and in Kodi.
Also, network browsing is no longer supported by SMBv2, and the Windows user account requires full credentials, including a password.

Use "Add a network location..." in the Kodi GUI, enter all details, and "things should work"™.

Using an IP address is preferred, as host names would need to be set up on each network device.

MrMC still works with Kodi 16, if I'm not mistaken...
