Bug Two of them still around from last version

1. Subtitles used to be automatically load from a subdirectory called subs in same directory as movie. This is not something you can set in settings anymore.
2. Playlists do not work since version 20.0
You used to be able to open a saved playlist and play. Now you have to add playlist to playlist and play that. Saving playlists as new, cooler, playlists do not solve anything.

You can set a general (network) folder for all subtitle files. Separate subsfolders haven't been in use for such a long time already, the standard is to place the subtitle file(s) next to the video, as all subtitle scrapers do by default.

So they do work, but just differently. Is that your problem?

Nothing had to be 'solved' AFAIK. It's just how things have evolved in the playlist era. Perhaps not to your liking, but the vast majority of Kodi users seems to have no problem with them.

Oh cool, because the initial test versions of XBMC didn't come out over a year later after you already started your experience. :-)
And since you are posting in the Android subforum section, Android versions only started from 2015.
