Disabling Text Branding in Goom
#1
I've been enjoying using XBMC Live for some time now, but one minor issue keeps bugging me. When playing music and using the "Goom" visualization, the text logo for Goom pops up and bounces on the screen every 15-20 seconds.

Its a beautiful visualization to just leave running in the periphery, except the logo is quite distracting and pixelated, and in my opinion detracts from the overall effect.

Is there any easy way to disable that?

If not, what's the best approach to recompiling just Goom and replacing it on the USB drive? I can work out modifying the Goom source myself if necessary but coming from a Fedora install I imagine it will be a little tricky to build against Ubuntu's pre-reqs if they are not found on the same paths?

Any help or tips would be appreciated.

Cheers

easiest would be getting it building on your fedora. then you can proceed by editing xbmc/visualisations/Goom to your likings (and hopefully other's as well), submitting the patch @ trac and finally wait for us to add it Smile since this is a .so somebody should be able to build just that for you

I agree, it is annoying/ugly. I avoid that visualization for that reason alone.
