some good places to get plugins:

http://code.google.com/p/rwparris2-xbmc-plugins/
http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-favorites/ (a download plugin to get plugins, scripts, skins, etc)

edit: took the opportunity to update the wiki page a bit: http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=List_of_work..._downloads

Great we'll see how this goes tonight, I plan on getting Aeon working as it's the same as I'm using in Meedios.

I hope I ran can the TV shows and movies in the test working, followed by music, and pictures.

We'll see who wins this Tongue

http://www.xbmczone.com/

http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-addons/
http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-scripting/

the last two you have to check out with svn, or use the repo installer http://xbmc-addons.googlecode.com/svn/pa...taller.zip

other than that, check the forums. there is no good centralized place, so its kind of a hunt.

Native shoutcast support (just add as source in Music).
42.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot

Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.

I've seen that around, but I prefer is scrappers that pull the feed from the site, doing it manual is a pain.

What? All you do is add a source once. It's not a pain. Support is already there, you're basically just making it visible.

I'm stuck at work Tongue

I can't wait to run this through the testing phase, maybe my tv shows will acutally be sorted *hoping for a lot*

Guess the shoutcast thing is easy, so all I have to do is add a source.

Sounds simiple...

I did tonight what would take me weeks to do in Meedios.

I was able to add almost my entire movie library 1200+ movies, and all my TV shows a few hundred episodes.

I made the changes to the source file for the shoutcast to be display in music player.

I ran into massive issue playing back movie files, there's several threads with no fix, I deleted the user-data and had to start over to correct the issue (that's sucks).

I was able to get my comics setup easily, add all my tv shows with all the proper information.

Everything is good minus these few points:

1. Library mode is nice, but it hides options. Argh, such as in music you can't access Shoutcast unless you turn that mode off.

2. Using the Aeon skin there's a "Play disc" menu that I can't rid of.

3. There no real way of launching external applications, which seems lame. I found the plugin but the application doesn't come to the front and that cause a lot of pain.

So far I say I'm here to stay but still testing, very amazing so far....

Just a few bugs, a couple crashes, and that damn video playback issue there.

I think this will automatically show if there's a disc in the drive, and disappear when you remove the disc. At least that's how it is at my setup.

I've been a heavy user of both Meedio and XBMC, and have helped to contribute things to both projects (my TV site, sports plugin for Meedio, etc). I switched to XBMC because it was easier to set up and had low boot time on the Xbox. However, Meedio's library is far more powerful and flexible than XBMC's. I think it's the only place XBMC is lacking. The result is that, IMHO, scripts/plugins for XBMC tend to be less powerful and integrated than those for Meedio.

The primary weakness of Meedio is that the UI has less eye candy, which means XBMC tends to look a little nicer. The MeediOS guys are working to resolve this by using WinForms, or similar technology, so I suppose at some point that'll be a moot point. However it does remain a difference now, so you should install both with your preferred skins and test them out.

If you don't mind spending additional time configuring Meedio, then it's really not a bad option. If you do mind, then go with XBMC.

edit: I see you're experiencing this a bit already. Wink

I myself went through the same process as You described. Meedio does the job allright but the GUI just sucks really bad. Mediaportal is kind of slow and messy. I say stick with XBMC as there really is not anything better out there. When it comes to stability and visual awesomnes, theres no competition.

Lets put it this way.

I added all my movies, and tv shows. Went to bed and in the morning they were all added minus a few corrections.

Mediastream won me over, that skin is amazing and coverflow isn't overheating my video card this time.

Meedios gui theme default sucks but Chrome is really good but I finding it to get slower.

I don't have to put in have as much time now for XBMC, i set up everything in a few hours compared to a few weeks - amazing.

Give a hand to the guy working on the media stream theme too btw

Screwed again.

Just after getting XBMC up and running like a dream the worst thing happens.

I got zapped as I was turning my computer on as the power supply blew.

That was nice; I got shock half to death, and almost got set on fire.

Nice way to spend my Thursday morning on the floor in shock, no hospital hurt like a you know what.

Sighs, so the power supply blew and my other hand happen to be resting on the metal part of the case, which I guess shocked me. Strange it was connected to a surge protector

So I actually had to pull the stupid PSU out with a oven mitt on as it was hotter then hell it self, and took almost a hour to cool down.

So that was fun, now I’m out for my Media Center before X-mas. I can’t afford the repairs. As we have a baby I can’t afford the repairs and x-mas gifts.

So this sucks as everything is on that machine, and my wife is really upset as a lot of data is stored on the SATA drives about the baby, which I sure is fine but can’t be viewed for guests at x-mas.

This is the second antec power-supply in this case to go, the first was rma. But I know it won’t work for the second one, and the PSU is custom. Now I need a new case and power supply. And locally the cheapest I can find for past is $300 give or take, great.

Oh well it was nice while it lasted I’ll figure something out I guess.
