Zalman HD135 remote?

Question
Hey guys!

I've got a frustrating problem with my htpc and xbmc. I cant get my remote to work with xbmc. It works with all other apps but i cannot get it to work under XBMC.
I began by trying to map the buttons on the remote to the corresponding keyboard buttons as specified under Keymap.xml. But that didnt yield any results at all.

Some of the buttons work by default, like "Back" "OK". But this is getting very frustrating i could really need some pointers here.
The majority of guides i've seen are either for the MCE remote or for linux.

I'm probaly missing something very simple but as i said i'm getting frustrated. =P I've had a bunch of problems with my HTPC and now i just want to get it to work.
The thought has crossed my mind to change the recieving software to something else but i havnt found the perfect candidate for that.

My setup looks like this:

Platform: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 build 2600.
XBMC Revision: 8.10 Atlantis
Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GHz
Desktop Resolution: 1920x1080 32Bit at 60Hz
mem: 4GB DIMM DDR2 800MHZ
motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-E7AUM-DS2H (integrated graphics nvidia 9400)
case: ZALMAN HD135 HTPC-CHASSI BLACK
Remote: M-play Blast (inlcuded with the case) http://www.tomsguide.com/us/htpc-remote-...63-22.html
Remote software: M-PlayHomeCenter (default with remote)

I hope i got all the relevant information in there. Smile

I have the same problem, diffrent hardware but also having probs getting the remote to work. Cant even get the 4 arrow key's to work. Those are the most important.

Also running windows XP and using M-play software.

the remote works in microsoft media center and so on but XBMC is so much better.....

Anybody know how to fix the problem we both have ?

Have you tried using eventghost? Or looked in the sticky thread for remotes?

You migh want to update your XBMC to something newer as well. Although that wont fix your issue. It just might prevent some more in the future.

If your remote is RC6 compatible, try using IRTrans.

They have this utility called IR2keyboard and it's awesome. Took me about 15 minutes to setup all the keys and map them to the keyboard keys i wanted.

Finally found the solution for this.

Remove your current m.play software and install the latest from VLSYS here it is:

http://www.vlsys.co.kr/download/2008/mplay/MHC3038.zip

works perfect for me with the original ZALMAN remote and you can then teach your harmony all the commands by learning them from the Zalman remote

Message from a dozen years back; the Wayback Machine to the rescue for a newbie.

Try not to dredge old threads back up, it creates hope for long unsupported software.
