I added a music directory to my shared drive on my network. I am using a SMB share to acccess all my media from the network to my Apple TV running XBMC. The directory that I added was roughly 25Gb of music. I can get about half way through the scan, then XBMC crashes. Each time i restart unless i cancel the scan it will continue to do this in an infinite loop. Also, was wondering how to add a different scrapper for getting music metadata. I am getting very wrong information for a lot of my music.

Please post your Debug log on a paste site like http://pastebin.com

That'll be a good start there really isn't enough information in the post for me to have any input for you.

I'm not sure about adding scrapers, i've not done that before.
