won't build xbmc.exe....
#1
hey everybody. i've been using xbmc for a couple of years now and i download the source code for the win32 version and tried to build the executable. the first 3 build but then it fails to build xbmc.exe? here's the build log. any idea what i might need to do to build it successfully? I've tried downloading the source code from the svn at different times and different days because of the heavy development but i get the same error message. i am using Microsoft visual studios .net 2003. thnx in advance.

vs2003 project file isn't up2date. Try vs2008 or add the following files to the vs2003 project file:
http://trac.xbmc.org/browser/branches/li...ACodec.cpp
http://trac.xbmc.org/browser/branches/li...SCodec.cpp

Great. Now i need 2 compilers for two separate platforms. Eh but whatever. It's still building, so idk if it'll work. Do you think it would be possible to include those .cpp files in the Win SVN? or do i have to manually copy them over at each revison i update too?

I dunno why you're copying anything, you just need to add the files to the project file, they're already in svn (as per the links). You could always update the vs2k3 project file and submit a patch on trac. This is open source after all.

I've fixed the project file already some days ago -> http://trac.xbmc.org/changeset/18352
