Hey guys,

On my Mac, i have an EyeTV usb tuner and i used to use Plex. In Plex, i was able to add the EyeTV as a plugin so whenever EyeTV recorded anything, it would appear there. On my iPhone, there was an IceTV app so i could schedule recordings from anywhere.

Im now making a HTPC which will use Windows. What is the best way to replicate this? Basically:
- What tv tuner card should i get? It needs to be USB
- What software do you use on Windows to schedule recordings, watch and pause live tv etc?
- Would i be able to add the plugin like i previously did with EyeTV and Plex?

Note: Im from Australia, so the tv tuner would need to be available here.

Cheers for any help

Any software but XBMC.

You can answer all your questions just by reading what the software does. Media Portal I think you have a new customer.

I use sage tv to record my shows, share the directory on the local pc, and then add it to the library. I'm sure there are better ways and more options.

Here's the sage tv plugin for xbmc (link on there forums)

There's also a myth plugin for xbmc if i'm not mistaken.
