I don't know if it's possible to assign keyboard shortcuts from the skin, but if so, I think the search functionality should be assigned a keyboard shortcut (like pressing f for find, since s is taken). I say this as searching is primarily designed for keyboard interaction (given the need to type in a name which is laborious with the remote) so a keyboard shortcut is a natural fit.

I think that this would go under the realm of XBMC features, seeing as you can assign any key you want to do for exmple, m to Movies (http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Built-in_fun..._to_python and this one: http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=List_of_Built_In_Functions)

I haven't looked through to see if this is currently possible, but I wasn't aware there was a search window accessible through the scripting interface (although I agree with you, and this would definitely be awesome!)
