I am finally migrating my 2x 1TB WD MyBooks HDs from My Airport Extreme directly to my aTv. I am using a Belkin 4-port powered hub, which worked great connected to AEB(n).

appleTV 2.3.1
Launcher 3.0
XBMC Babylon alpha1 r19219
Boxee alpha 0.9.11.5591
nitoTV 0.7.2 (take two)

One of the HD (title: The Original, /dev/disk2s2) it auto mounted and all the files are visible. But nothing will play (ISO, VOB, MKV). "Error: Playlist Playback aborted. Too Many consecutive failed items"

The second HD (title: The Sequel, /dev/disk1s2) is mounted and the first level of folders is seen, however there is nothing visible inside.

I have tried plugging each individual HD directly into the aTv, same issues occur.

I have plugged both HDs into my MacBook and run disk repair, both HDs checked out OK.

dmesg report:

Quote:disk1s2: media is not present.

Thank you in advance for any and all help with this.

Well it looks like your drives are not being mounted.

Don't you have to enable the usb port - or is that included in patchstick/xbmc already?

Just out of interest why are you moving the disks from the AE - I have the same setup and find that it works great.

I though I enabled USB when I did the nitoTV install setup. Plus XBMC does see the drives and the files or folders.

My current configuration is 2x 1TB HD shared via AEB(n). My aTv wireless & my MacBook wireless. 90% of the time everything runs smoothly but when I do get a hiccup, its bad.... audio off or all of a sudden it has to buffer ever few mins. I just figured that this migration would make for smoother playback.

So I plugged both HDs back into my mac and started playing around. Some how the Sharing & Permissions were all messed up. Some folders were "no access" some where "read only", so I had to go check every one and they are now working fine.
