The timeout idle counter within XBMC works fine in performing the selected action. But what I need is, the PC to enter standby if other programs are also not doing anything. Such as, SageTV recording a show. Without XBMC running and using windows standby setting the PC will enter standby after 5 minutes of no activity if SageTV is not recording anything. I am getting ready to test if XBMC is running whether it prevent the windows idle counter from putting the PC into standby mode or not. Has anyone else tried this, or does a dev know if this works or not?
If it doesn't work, I guess I could have XBMC quit after it's idle timer is done, then have the PC's idle timer slightly longer so it then enters sleep mode. Then, restart XBMC when the PC resumes from standby.
