Nvidia ION XBMC support for windows xp/vista
#1
Question
Hello,

I have been a long time fan of XBMC dating back to the original releases for the xbox. I recently bought a Zotec Nvidia ION N330 motherboard and was doing a little research on xbmc and windows support for this chipset. I am under the impression that XBMC does not take advantage of the GPU CUDA support for HD movies. Will support be bundled into the dev releases or is this a dead subject? I understand i could use linux, but that is a can of worms i do not wish to open. Are there any workarounds or any other media centers that people would recommend to fill the void?

Thanks!

Tim

You can have XBMC launch an external player then you can use any codec you like there's a whole thread below yours about how

At present XBMC can launch an external player. A very quick look around will result in discovery of a very long thread about trying to get GPU support in Windows and, at least presently, failing.

Lots of other threads on this topic exist. Locking this one.
