More flow and life

I am pretty sure XBMC don't have the power to do this for now. But shouldn't navigating the skin be more like this.

Some view are really rough and not very good but the flow and life. Really cool. I hope we will see this in XBMC soon.

Some of those ideas COULD be done in XBMC skins, but the effort would be rather large, AND... the 'fluid motion' wouldn't be as good as the Wii.

Also, you have to take a view that ultimately, MOST of us was to use XBMC to actually play the media, not play with the virtual DVD box etc.
It's true we like eye candy, and we like the UI to look sophisticated/professional... but ultimately, media is the goal.

Some of the existing skins do a pretty good job already, and there are new skins in the pipeline that promise to raise the bar....

I thought the videos shown in your links were overkill, and actually quite poor.
Although I did like the rear cover of the DVD boxes, and think that concept might be usable in an XBMC skin (if the text could be read)...

Fast 3D graphics, poor UI for the most part.

BTW as far as I know, XBMC UI only words with 2D objects manipulated in a 3D world. (so no extruded DVD cases etc, but the effect can be faked.

Nice heads up for the videos though!

Hi
I had a play with wiiflow today. Wow it is like floating on air.
I totally Agree with you regarding the UI. Very rough and unpolished.

But imagine having a 3d engine like that in XBMC combined with a UI from a design genius like djh.
There is no doubt we will see allot more interfaces like this. I think it is just a question of if XBMC will be in the frontlines or following the mainstream later.
