I have been looking for a good Unix based media center application and decided to give XBMC a try. I compiled and installed successfully on FC12 box and am able to get the frontend or GUI part loaded and functional.
The first issue I noticed is how slow the commands work. I press the down arrow key on my keyboard and 3-5 seconds later the option will change. Press too fast and everything locks up.
This is an older Compaq PC with 1gb of RAM and a Sempron 3000+ AMD processor so this should have enough power to run this application, correct?
Anyone else have any other ideas as to why this is running so slow? I want to start setting this up more and add media to test its capabilities before I go and purchase a video card.
