Seemingly RC1 has added a odd behaviour with my DVD drive and the way sits handled along with contents.
initial Debug Log

What I have done was:
1) boot machine with Media cd inside
2) eject > Navigate filemanager
It shouldnt display Acronis anymore since that is content of CD
3) Insert Different media in this case G-parted-live disk
4)reboot with no disk in drive
Drive no longer shows up on file manager
fstab previously fully working entry until beta2
Full dmesg log
http://iquik.pastebin.com/m1e3aa57d
Dmesg log when opening replacing with other media
http://iquik.pastebin.com/mc2bcc22
Debug log with media inserted
http://iquik.pastebin.com/m71487ef0
5) Reboot with no media inserted
debug log with no Media inserted.

Conclusion:
So if you want to have a drive showing up now must boot with media inserted.
What Should it do and doesnt:

What Should it do and doesnt:
- Should on eject media display generic CDROM name e.g. DVD-Drive
- Should on inserting media properly recognise and use media Label if available/recognisable by XBMC
- Should Appear on File Manager/system even if Booted with no media inside.
- On Eject it displays (open) which indicates device is open this is OK
