Hi guys, i've been trying to get my head around xbmc so that i can use it with the crystal hd card which i am getting during the week, i was running 9.11, tried to set up the IMBD metadata and the programme locked up, the wouldn't start on reboot. tried reinstalling 9.11 still no go.

Re installed 9.04.1 and it worked but on the screen top left corner scanning for files? when you stop scanning it locks up, when you try and exit the application it locks up?

Any ideas?

I recently upgraded to 9.11 on AppleTV 2.4, then upgraded the ATV to 3.0 yesterday.

I was having problems where XBMC would lock up if I did not keep the cursor moving, after backing out of a video (all media is located on network shares).

I just checked the log and I found a few entries with...

ERROR: GetDirectory - Error getting smb://<DIR>
ERROR: SMBDirectory->GetDirectory: Unable to open directory : '<DIR>'

And it turns out that I have a few folders in the area where the screensaver looks that have revoked permissions.

Seems like there can be several seconds between entries, so the XBMC screensaver is trying to access folders it is not allowed to, and the timeout is rather long.

I am changing the screensaver for now, I will post back if that doesn't work.
