Problem Installing any Aeon skin
#1
Question
I just successfully built XBMC for Ubuntu with defaults from the current git version which includes 2 themes: Confluence and PM3.HD. I have read great things about the Aeon skin and was hoping to install it. I first tried manually installing Aeon with git following these instructions to a T. http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=49958

After the download from git, I made sure to also copy in the fonts, however after starting up XBMC, it still did not display as an option. I removed this folder and then decided to try the automated script. http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=56423&page=17

I figured it would work so I downloaded all flavors of the Aeon skin (Auriga, Hitched, Phil65, and Showmix) and everything seemed to populate fine within my ~./XBMC/skin/ folder. However, after everything downloaded, I tried launching XBMC and changing the skins but none of the Aeon skins were listed.

I thought maybe it may be because i may have compiled the wrong version, but when going to system info, it says XBMC Pre-10.6 r30128, which should be supported by the Aeon skin.

Is there a step I'm missing? How can I fix this issue?

Thanks,
-Hans

::Edit::
After restarting my computer and trying to install other skins (IE MediaStream, Focus, etc), I noticed that none of them get recognized and added as an option in XMBC. Perhaps I should post this in the general skins forum?

Please close this thread.

I have resolved this issue. It may have been due to some incorrect permissions when I compiled from source. I deleted everything xbmc related and added the ppa for xbmc-team-svn and installed that version. Now everything seems to be working with Aeon Support. Now, time to figure out how to configure all this!
